Stocky stocktake replacement
Shopify removed Stocky from the App Store in February 2026 and shut it down on 31 August 2026. Purchase orders and transfers moved into the Shopify admin earlier. Stocktakes were the part many POS shops relied on most: count a location, see the variance, apply it. Here is what can do that job now.

If you already pay for POS Pro at every location and count only selected products, Shopify's own Stock counts may be all you need, and it is worth trying first. A separate app earns its price when you count on phones without POS Pro, need full counts that zero what was not found, want the count's value in money, or need the results in a spreadsheet.
How Stocky's stocktake maps to each
- Full stocktake (everything at a location): CSV export/import, or an app with a full-count mode. See how to do a stocktake in Shopify.
- Partial / cycle count (a shelf, a vendor, top sellers): Shopify Stock counts with the products chosen, or an app. See cycle counts in Shopify.
- Counting while the shop is open: make sure sales during the count are not lost. Countwell keeps them by remembering stock at the first scan of each item.

Countwell is a stocktake and cycle-count app for Shopify built for shops that used Stocky. It runs inside the Shopify admin on a computer and in the Shopify mobile app; every scan is saved at once; all locations are on every plan. It is in testing and not yet in the Shopify App Store, and other stocktake apps are listed there today if you need one this week.
