Shopify stocktake apps compared
After Stocky shut down on 31 August 2026, shops that counted stock with it moved to Shopify's native Stock counts or to an app. Below are the main options for counting stock, with prices and plan limits as each listing showed them on 1 November 2026. We make Countwell, the last row; it is in testing and not yet in the App Store, so every other row is something you can install today. Check each listing before you choose: prices change.

"Not listed on the pricing page" means the app's plan list doesn't mention export; the app may still offer it. Ratings and review counts are from the App Store listings on 1 Nov 2026.
Which one fits
- You have POS Pro and count selected products at one location at a time: start with Shopify's Stock counts. It is free with your plan and has manager review.
- You want everything in one cheap plan and a valuation report: MiMi ($7.49, unlimited locations, Excel/PDF valuation) is the low price to beat.
- You also need purchase orders and transfers (the other half of Stocky): MiMi, PML and Binly list them; EasyScan adds pick/pack and labels at a higher price.
- A small catalogue and one location: BR's free plan (50 items per stocktake) or Binly's free plan (up to 500 products) costs nothing.
- You count by phone without POS Pro, need full counts that zero what wasn't found, and want a CSV with the value of the difference: that is the job Countwell is built for, and the free plan covers 100 applied items a month.
What to check in any stocktake app
- Sales during the count: does the app keep sales made while you count, or overwrite them? (Countwell remembers stock at the first scan of each item and keeps later sales.)
- Full count: are uncounted items set to 0, and can you see that list before it is applied?
- Saving: is every scan saved at once, so a closed tab or a dead phone loses nothing?
- Locations: is your second location behind a higher plan?
- A record: can you get the count out as a file for your accountant? (See export a stock count to CSV.)

Countwell is not in the Shopify App Store yet
