EasyScan alternative for stocktakes
You are looking at EasyScan Inventory & Barcode and want to compare it. Here is what its App Store listing says, what we do differently, and who should pick which. We make Countwell, so we say so up front.
What EasyScan is
EasyScan has been listed since January 2020 and shows a rating of 5.0 from 378 reviews. It is a whole inventory app: purchase orders, forecasting, transfers, reports, ABC analysis, stock valuation, SKU and barcode labels, bin locations, and scan to pick and pack. Its listing shows four plans: Basic $9.99, Standard $39.99, Advanced $79.99 and Pro $129.99 a month, with a free trial. The Basic plan is for labels; counting starts at Standard.
What Countwell does differently
EasyScan does far more than count. If you need purchase orders, forecasting and pick-and-pack, it is the stronger product and Countwell is not a replacement. Countwell only counts:
- Countwell is for counting stock and nothing else, so it is simple to set up and cheaper: Free, $9 or $19 a month.
- Countwell counts with the camera in the Shopify mobile app, a USB or Bluetooth scanner, or by typing.
- Countwell keeps a reason on every line that is off and writes a CSV with the value of each difference at cost.
- Countwell asks only for products, inventory and locations.
Countwell is submitted to the Shopify App Store and waiting for review, so you cannot install it today. Every other option on this page you can.
Who should pick which
- You need purchase orders, forecasting, labels or pick and pack as well as counts: EasyScan.
- You only want to count stock and pay as little as possible: Countwell, once it is in the App Store, or the free stocktake template.
- One count a year and a small catalogue: the free stocktake template.
Shopify's own Stock counts are free with your plan: staff record quantities by barcode scan or by typing, and you review before stock changes. Countwell is not in the Shopify App Store yet
